Switzerland v France

Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador

Switzerland take on France in their second group game at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvaddor. The Swiss managed to win their match against Ecuador in almost the last minute of the game. France cruised to a win over Honduras. Both teams will be very confident coming into this match.

Both managers will adopt the same teams that won their respective teams the first match. There are no injury worries for either team. The Swiss have a reputation of being a very strong defensive side and they will look to play to their strengths against a very attack minded France team.

Karim Benzema is in good form for Les Blues and they will once again look to him to deliver the goods. Paul Pogba has been impressive in the absence of Ribery. The French team will start as favorites for this match and are expected to top this group.

Swiss will look to absorb all the pressure from their opponents and the experienced Ottmar Hitzfelt will set up his team to counter attack France as and when they get the chance. Shaquiri is a potent weapon the Swiss possess from free kicks and long range. He has pace to exploit Evra down the left.

The two teams have met 35 times before with France winning 15, Switzerland winning 12 and 9 games ending as draws.

Potential starting line-ups:

Switzerland (Possible, 4-5-1): Benaglio; Lichtsteiner, Djourou, Von Bergen, Rodriguez; Inler, Shaqiri Behrami, Stocker, Xhaka; Drmic.

France (Possible, 4-3-3): Lloris; Debuchy, Varane, Sakho, Evra; Cabaye, Matuidi, Pogba; Valbuena, Benzema, Griezmann.

Referee: Bjorn Kuipers (Holland).
